This whimsical coffee set is the brainchild of the Grandjean-Jourdan ceramic factory in Vallauris, situated between Antibes and Cannes in Provence. A traditional pottery particularly noted for its fantasy pieces hand painted on a faux bois glaze.
This set comprises of eight Bridget Bardot cups and saucers, one related giraffe coffee pitcher, one buffalo milk jug and one chicken sugar bowl. Due to the soft body of the pottery, some of the pieces have inevitably attracted the odd nick over the passage of time. This set was sourced by us from a dealer in France.And dates to the 1950s.
