VINTAGE WEDGWOOD SUSIE COOPER'GLEN MIST' 21 PC TEA SET. One tall coffee pot with lid. Date: 1969 -1974 - backstamped. Material: Fine high quality bone china.
Pattern: Wedgwood Glen mist - pattern number WW GLM. Fine bone china decorated in pastel colour powder blue with poppies and bud flower with pale green and pale khaki on the stems. On the inside is a powder blue internal rim. Very delicately done and absolutely beautiful. Susie Cooper bone china & Wedgwood marks.
The marks Susie Cooper introduced for use on her range of fine bone china table ware are much more delicate that the marks she used on the earthenware range. This may have been a reflection on the elegance of the new shapes Susie introduced for bone china. When Susie Cooper merged with Wedgwood the marks used were modified versions of the Wedgwood mark already familiar to the Pottery trade.
The set was designed by Susie Cooper and the mark shows it was produced by her own factory in the late 1950's. The design is'Glen Mist' and it continued to be produced by Wedgwood for many years after their takeover of Susie Cooper's business.
Rim of serving plates edged with pale grey-blue band. At the centre, cover coat with pattern of two flowers and a bud (poppies) in powder-blue, pale green and pale khaki, on stems. This is replicated in all other items in set except for, as a contrast, the saucers (as pictured).
