Gill Pemberton's 70's groovy Russian inspired bold circular earthy yellow, brown and reds on a very dark brown background. Like it or hate it. Not to be confused with Portmeiron Samarkand, Denby was obliged to change the name to Arabesque. Cherished by families, difficult to get hold of especially some pieces.
Hand painted, so each piece is unique. Therefore pictures only show the pattern type, not the actual piece. Originally it had large variations in the depth and clarity of the pattern. These pieces are shown as Early rather than recent.
